DTV Conversion for WZRB CW47

What you need to know about WZRB's transfer to Digital.

If you have already connected your DTV converter to your television, you have most likely lost the ability to view WZRB CW47. Rest assured that WZRB is still on the air and your converter is probably working fine. WZRB is not yet broadcasting on a digital channel but will begin doing so in January, 2009.

In 2002 when Roberts Broadcasting (the owners of WZRB) acquired the license for WZRB-TV 47, The Federal Communications Commission was only issuing single channel assignments to any “new” stations licensed. Prior to this, existing stations were licensed to broadcast in Analog and Digital on dual channels. At WZRB-TV 47 the decision was made then to begin broadcasting in analog since we could reach the most potential viewers via our analog signal.

Just like all other full power commercial stations, WZRB will cease broadcasting an analog signal at 12 AM, the morning of February 17th, 2009. WZRB’s digital transition will be performed over one night. We are currently scheduled to make this switch a bit early, in the middle of January. Please check back with us for an exact date.

We appreciate you being ready for the transition to Digital Television; however, you are not required to use your DTV Conversion boxes until February. So, in order to watch the programming on CW47, you will need to remove your converter until next year.
